Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Overseeing the collaboration between departments to locate potential study candidates and enlist them in research projects.
  • Facilitates patients’ involvement in protocols, validates eligibility requirements are met, and verifies comprehension of informed consent processes.
  • Evaluates the education necessities of patients and their families and provides the essential education or materials to satisfy their educational requirements. Displays perceptive and reflective thinking in carrying out and coordinating nursing and medical interventions.
  • Organizes interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure protocol compliance and adequate testing.
  • Oversees and completes the gathering of data, maintaining a high level of accuracy. Creates relevant forms or data collection instruments if required.
  • Aids in the documentation of unfavorable drug reactions and medication responses. Reacts fast in emergency situations by utilizing patient-centered policies that are designed to meet the individual needs of each patient.
  • Record reviews and audits may be required by on-site teams, FDA, NCI, IRB or other agencies and sponsors, thus, preparation is essential.
  • Boosts patient and family participation in standard therapies by navigating and documenting the process.
  • Additional responsibilities as determined.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing.

Certification - Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.

Preferred:

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Certification - Clinical Research Coordinator Certification - Accredited University or accredited training professional.

Experience - 1+ years Registered Nurse; 1+ years Clinical Research.

Physical Requirements:

To execute this task, you'll need to use moderate physical force, which entails handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds periodically, objects weighing up to 30 pounds frequently, and items weighing up to 10 pounds continuously.
