Job Description:

This growing and highly successful manufacturing company located in Pflugerville, TX is seeking a Production Team Lead. We are looking for folks with previous leadership experience, manufacturing experience, machinery experience, and good communication and problem solving skills. Pay:

$18 - $25/hr based on interview, experience, and skills

Shift:

(1) 1st Shift opening 7am-3pm

(1) 2nd Shift opening 3pm-11pm

(1) 3rd Shift opening 11pm-7am

Responsibilities:

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for training and leading a team of 8-12 production workers amongst 8-10 machines.

  • Serve as a conduit for company, plant and departmental communications to employees in assigned area.
  • Oversee / lead manufacturing personnel in area assigned.
  • Ensure compliance to required schedule in assigned area.
  • Monitor all equipment in assigned area for optimal performance.
  • Contribute to quality, cost, safety, and efficiency improvements in assigned area.
  • Ensure conformance to all process controls, quality and efficiency criteria.
  • Train employees in assigned area as required.
  • Execute necessary production documentation (i.e., tool reports, scrap sheets, production reports, accident reports, first shot sheets, manning logs, maintenance requests, etc.).
  • Monitor all personnel in assigned area for adherence to company policies and procedures (i.e., quality policy manual, associate handbook, etc.).
  • Serve as leader for associates in assigned area in group problem solving and employee involvement activity.
  • Cooperate with support personnel (Engineering, Tooling, Quality, Maintenance, etc.) on their specific agendas and assignments as they relate to area of responsibility.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures (i.e., quality policy manual, associate handbook, etc.).
  • Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas.
  • Assists supervisor in overseeing all employees in assigned area. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s plans, policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training and motivating employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVE the experience noted in the Top Skills section + a positive attitude/good communication skills.

BEST:

Experience working on an injection molding, compression molding or plastics extrusion manufacturing line

Experience working in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment

ERP / MRP computer system expertise

Additional:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to communicate with employees, and have excellent listening skills.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Work Environment:

This company is an automotive supplier of plastic injection molded parts to major automotive OEMs such as GM and Toyota. For this reason, the company and work will remain steady and stable - and due to landing new customers in the Electric Vehicle space, they will be growing very soon! This could include eventually mean moving into a brand new building.

This growth will create plenty of opportunity for career growth within the company.

Also due to the business, this is a place in which regular amounts of Overtime can be expected.. great for those who would like to cushion the paycheck.

The Ops Manager describes the manufacturing team as having a casual, friendly, supportive environment. Dress code is casual.. for example, tennis shoes are allowed and you can wear shorts (work appropriate, long shorts) in the summer!

Signing Bonus of $250 after 30 days of completion with the company!

PTO - Vacation – 2 weeks (10 days), prorated for any partial year. Thereafter, as outlined in the hourly employee handbook.
