As a Pharmacy Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our pharmacy department, ensuring the highest standards of efficiency, compliance, and patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans for the pharmacy department, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage and optimize pharmacy operations to enhance workflow efficiency, minimize errors, and maximize patient satisfaction.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, including those set forth by regulatory bodies and professional organizations.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring medication supplies to minimize shortages and waste.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to monitor and evaluate pharmacy services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage departmental budgets, optimizing resource allocation and controlling costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Foster collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, to promote interdisciplinary teamwork and optimize patient care outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for process improvement, innovation, and best practice dissemination within the pharmacy department and across the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Licensed Pharmacist (current and in good standing)
  • Proven experience in pharmacy management or leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in pharmacy management software and technology
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and patient-centered care

Qualifications:

  • Active Pharmacy License in the state of employment
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e. APhA)
  • Listed on the pharmacy state license as the ‘pharmacist in charge'
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree
