Production Specialist

The Role Tesla's Cell Materials Engineering group is looking for a highly motivated individuals to be Production Specialists for a novel battery chemical plant under construction near Corpus Christi, TX. You, as a Production Specialist, will be part of a new production team where your impact will contribute to laying the foundation for a new chemical manufacturing operation. You will have the opportunity to contribute to both process development and equipment improvement. A strong drive to learn new skills and acquire knowledge will enhance your ability to support production operations while your flexibility and communication skills enhance your ability to be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to company policies of safety and conduct.
• Operate and troubleshoot manufacturing processes through SPC or other data analysis.
• Ensuring process stability and quality of production output.
• Develop energy isolation plans for conducting maintenance on equipment.
• Ensuring operations are instructed and conducted in compliance with Process Safety best practices
• Help to develop, maintain, and implement process changes and control plans.
• Write and update Manufacturing Instructions.
• Escalate issues to Production manager and quality team when necessary.
• Support Commissioning and Startup activities including process and equipment validations.
• Train and provide leadership for Operators on equipment operation and processes.
• Collaborate with both maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to sustain and improve on key process metrics

Requirements

5+ years of experience in a PSM regulated process and/or Process Technology Associates Degree. Experience with solids handling, calcination and hydromet unit operations is a plus.

Exceptional ability to troubleshoot chemical process unit operations and implement effective solutions

Experience commissioning and starting up new projects

Able to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics as well as engineering drawings

Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Word

Experience interpreting SPC, Process Capability, and Gauge R&R
