The job of a Postal Mail Processor requires excellent time management skills, organizational skills and ability to multitask. In other words, postal clerks often have to juggle several responsibilities at once on their feet while meeting quality standards set by USPS and satisfying customer needs at the same time – all in a day’s work.

  • Starting pay range: $23.47 – $38.62 per hour
  • Average annual compensation package of $72,400 for full-time jobs with benefits

Duties For A Postal Mail Processor May Include:

  • Verifying accuracy of postmark on return receipts against certified mail receipt;
  • Selling stamps;
  • Keeping an eye out for incoming mail containing sensitive information as it passes through your hands; securely handling all such items until they reach their destination;
  • Sorting & transporting parcels between different floors within office buildings where multiple companies operate out of shared spaces;
  • Performing other various general office duties such as answering phones or providing basic customer service;
  • Providing comprehensive counseling to customers seeking home or business postal support services like change of address, mail forwarding or vacation holds.
