Cash Desk Attendant

ALDI is hiring Cashiers and Stockers to create a better shopping experience for our customers. Join our team and work alongside others in operating equipment, restocking shelves, keeping our store clean, and providing excellent customer service.

Position Type: Part-Time

Average Workload: Below 30 Hours per Week

The starting remuneration for newcomers is set at $18.50 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate must have the ability to perform tasks with or without reasonable assistance.

  • Supports team efforts and effectively relays pertinent information to their manager
  • Safeguards the security and privacy of documents and data in their responsibility
  • Added tasks as instructed

Cashier Responsibilities:

  • Processes consumer orders, maintains cleanliness in the retail store, organizes products on the shelves, and displays merchandise with precision
  • Providing exceptional customer service is the top priority for ensuring customers have an enjoyable shopping experience
  • Keeps management informed of any issues regarding products, merchandising, inventory discrepancies, and other relevant matters
  • Joins in the process of taking inventory counts in the store following the set guidelines and ensuring that the inventory is monitored for precision
  • The implementation of proper cash policies and procedures can greatly reduce the risk of financial losses

Stocker Responsibilities:

  • Consistently replenishing attractive and appealing shelves with fresh food items to meet customers’ demands
  • A comprehensive merchandising planogram provides a concise and efficient way to ensure that all merchandising displays meet a certain standard of excellence
  • Systematically categorizing fresh supplies and removing empty boxes by breaking them down is a significant task
  • In order to successfully carry out the assigned tasks, it is essential to have experience in handling sophisticated machinery and following safety procedures

Physical Demands:

  • A job at the store demands individuals to participate in a diverse range of physical actions, such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking
  • Shelf Stocker: Capability to move store products from receiving to shelves; expertise in arranging items, which may weigh up to 45 pounds, on shelves at different elevations

Qualifications:

  • Any person wishing to take part in this must have attained the age of 18 or higher
  • The skill to deliver quick and gracious customer support
  • Having the capacity to carry out routine cleaning tasks in compliance with the organization's norms
  • Effectively implementing company policies and procedures requires a solid understanding of the policies themselves. This involves careful reading and interpretation
  • Outstanding Verbal Aptitude
  • Possessing the skills to function cohesively with coworkers while also possessing the capability to work independently
  • Effective time management
  • Developing expertise in a company's products and services can help employees identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
  • Competence in operating the cash register effectively and precisely
  • Ensure that you are knowledgeable about the state and local requirements that govern the handling and sale of alcohol, and that you maintain the highest standards of conduct and safety
  • Skill and knowledge in operating equipment, including cardboard balers, electric/manual hand jacks, and floor scrubbers, with safety in mind is an essential requirement for a stocker

Education and Experience:

  • Candidates who have completed their secondary education or acquired an equivalent diploma are highly sought after
  • For this job, candidates with a retail work history are preferred
