The Opportunity:
The Manager, Billing Services will support the Director, Billing Services in the selection, direction and development of billing department team members, and will report to the Director, Billing Services. The Manager will be responsible for assisting team members with problematic bills and questions regarding billing processes. The Manager will be responsible to report on Key Performance Indicators for the department and will be held to the standards identified as benchmarks for each client. Position duties include managing the daily workflow of the department, monitoring progress to identify trending issues and develop training or processes to address these issues. The Manager will also hold huddles to efficiently cover new or evolving training focuses to encourage and develop team members. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing progress on the floor and monitoring the worked accounts for quality assurance. The position will also manage assigned associate's time management and approval of time cards for payroll processing.
Essential Job Functions
Assists with creating strategic vision for billing services across the organization. The Manger will be responsible for assisting the billing leadership in developing and implementing short and long-term plans and objectives to improve revenue, ensure compliant billing, accelerate cash, and reduce denials. The Manger will work with revenue cycle departments to identify and correct trends to ensure first-time billing accuracy
Regularly monitors data to identify gaps in the operations and works with key parties / departments to resolve the issues. In addition, monitors ongoing issues to ensure new processes are consistently followed and maintained
Organizes functions through establishing clear accountabilities and decision rights, delegation of duties and appropriate departmentalization. Counsels and disciplines employees when necessary in accordance with department and/or organizational policies. Establishes departmental goals with staff to optimize performance while improving operations to increase customer satisfaction and meet the financial goals of the organization
Participates in monthly, quarterly and annual key indicator goal setting. Participates in reviews, updates, and implementation of policies and procedures to support the vision and goals.
Accountable for a comprehensive and effective communication strategy with the department that promotes a common understanding of the market, vision, strategy and accountabilities. Promotes a culture of two-way communications and creates opportunities for staff participation. Activities focused on Employee engagement, including intentional coaching and mentoring.
