Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly qualified individual to fulfill the role of Deputy Program Director for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. This is a full-time position based in Los Angeles, CA. As the Deputy Program Director, you will report directly to the Director of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program and will be responsible for assisting in the development, coordination, and monitoring of the nursing faculty and vocational nursing students. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, creative and critical thinking abilities, and a strong aptitude for obtaining, analyzing, and applying data. Essential Functions:
- Support the university and program's mission and objectives by systematically evaluating student learning and advancing outcomes.
- Supervise faculty recruitment, qualifications, development, and evaluation in accordance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
- Provide leadership to the faculty in the development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of the program's curriculum plan, in line with shared governance and institutional and accreditation guidelines.
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the program, including student advisement and direct-care clinical education.
- Monitor, assess, and implement strategies to utilize ATI resources across the curriculum, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in NCLEX performance.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation guidelines in all program publications.
- Facilitate necessary communications, reporting, changes, and representation with accreditation commissions and agencies.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, with coursework in nursing, education, or administration.
- Minimum of two years' experience teaching in pre- or post-licensure registered nursing programs.
- At least one year of continuous, full-time or equivalent direct patient care experience as a registered nurse.
- Background in college-level education.
- Valid, active license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Action-oriented, innovative thinking, and adaptable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and thrive in a deadline-oriented environment.
