STYLECASTER is looking for a savvy Social Media Editor to oversee and grow the brand’s social media channels. As a member of our New York City–based editorial team, this person will work closely with our editors and should share a journalist’s sensibility for packaging content and crafting copy that engages our audience and delivers traffic.
Our ideal candidate lives online and knows the latest celebrity gossip before Deux Moi. You should consider yourself a social maestro, and preferably will have managed large followings before. You should have a passion for the pop culture, fashion, beauty and lifestyle content that millennial women care about (from the latest TikTok beauty trends to the state of Kim & Pete’s relationship), an excellent understanding of the nuances of the various social media channels, and an enthusiasm for experimentation. If you can create a fire Reelz and have an unduly amount of Hailey Bieber outfits saved, you should reach out.
The Work
Set and implement the strategy for all of the brand’s social channels, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Google Web Stories, Pinterest, Flipboard and Twitter
Grow the brand’s following and social imprint across all channels
Collaborate with editors to optimize editorial content for social—from topics to design—and educate team of best practices for social optimization
Pitch and write stories for the site in your areas of interest
Manage social coverage of live events across all social platforms
Represent the brand at select press events to capture and create original content for our social channels
Collect, analyze and report on social media and traffic data
Work closely with Integrated Marketing and Client Services teams to craft and deploy sponsored content and campaigns
The Fine Print
3–5 years of experience in social media, ideally from an editorial perspective, as well as a successful track record of managing big social accounts across different platforms
Experience using social media management and analytics tools (Social Studio, Sprinklr, Later, Google Analytics, CrowdTangle, etc.)
Availability to work some nights and weekends to cover award shows and live events
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Ability to change direction and operate in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work self-sufficiently and be proactive
Adept at balancing department needs that are both creative and technical
