Join our team at ALDI as a Cashier or Stocker and contribute to enhancing the customer experience. Collaborating with others, you'll operate machinery and registers, restock shelves, maintain store appearance, and assist customers.

Position Type: Part-Time

The Average is Under 30 Hours on a Weekly Basis

New members of staff can expect to receive $18.50 in hourly pay when commencing their employment

Duties and Responsibilities:

The employee is required to execute duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Engages in team efforts and keeps their direct manager informed with all relevant details
• Ensures the safety and privacy of records and information under their jurisdiction
• Tasks as directed by the employer

Cashier Responsibilities:

• Conducts customer purchases, performs janitorial tasks, arranges commodities on shelves, and ensures the product displays look inviting and neat
• A focus on exceptional customer service is maintained to ensure customers’ shopping needs are appropriately addressed
• Regularly communicates with management to report on any product inaccuracies, inventory issues, scanning errors, or other important matters that may affect the store's success
• Actively participates in the store inventory counting process by adhering to the recommended guidelines and verifying inventory precision
• To minimize monetary risks and losses, it is imperative to comply with the cash policies and procedures that have been put in place

Stocker Responsibilities:

• Providing customers with fresh and high-quality products thanks to diligent shelf-stocking and rotation
• Following an established merchandising planogram is a crucial step towards crafting exemplary product exhibits
• Arranging recently-delivered items in a structured manner and eliminating vacant boxes by breaking them down is a critical activity
• In order to execute the duties assigned, it is crucial that the individual is able to operate various machines and apparatus safely

Physical Demands:

• Those who work at the store are responsible for fulfilling a wide range of physical duties, from sitting and standing to bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking
• Stocking Associate: Ability to transfer merchandise from store receiving to shelves; dexterity in placing products, weighing up to 45 pounds, on various shelving heights

Qualifications:

• Participants must have completed their eighteenth year to be eligible
• The expertise to offer efficient and courteous assistance to clients
• Proficiency in undertaking general cleaning duties as expected by the organization
• Employees who are knowledgeable about company policies and procedures are in a better position to help new team members integrate into the workplace. They can act as mentors, providing guidance and support as needed
• The ability to express oneself with clarity and confidence is essential in every walk of life, and those with exceptional vocal expression have a distinct advantage in communication and interpersonal relationships
• Having the ability to adapt to both individual and team-based tasks accordingly
• Effective time management
• A solid understanding of a company's products and services is key to communicating effectively with clients
• Expertise in utilizing the cash register effectively and precisely
• Ensure that you are operating within the legal framework set by your state and city when dealing with alcohol sales and service
• Being adept at safely and appropriately utilizing a variety of equipment, such as electric/manual hand jack, cardboard baler, and floor scrubber, is an essential requirement for a stocker

Education and Experience:

• The ideal candidate would have completed their secondary schooling or received an equivalent certification
• Those who have worked in retail before are at an advantage in the selection process
• A fusion of academic training and practical application resulting in equivalent knowledge
