Duties


As an IT Project Manager GS-12, you will:


  • Assist in developing, managing, and implementing project plans, such as project management plan, communications plan, time management plan, project schedules, work breakdown structure, risk plan, budget plan and procurement plan.

  • Create all Information Resources Governance Council (IRGC) and Information Technology and Data Governance (ITDG) artifacts ensuring complete compliance of CDC's Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC).

  • Coordinate approved requirements for projects with higher management.

  • Assist in managing templates reports, checklists, analysis tools and collaborations using MS Office products and MS SharePoint automated tools.

  • Develop work breakdown structures, resource leveling, milestones, and methods for collecting and reporting project status data.



  • As an IT Project Manager GS-13, you will:

  • Develop, manage, and implement project plans, such as project management plan, communications plan, time management plan, project schedules, work breakdown structure, risk plan, budget plan and procurement plan

  • Manage and facilitate stakeholder meetings to develop plans.

  • Manage projects through use of a Project Management Information System which includes in depth knowledge and user skills in Microsoft (MS) Project and other project management automated tools

  • Apply risk management methodologies.

  • Design, develop, and manage systems that meet current and future business requirements.

  • Define, documents and tests requirements for large scale IT infrastructure systems

Due to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) process enhancement to use Shared Certificates throughout the Agency, some of the requirements below may differ:


  • US Citizenship required.

  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service ().

  • May be subject to a Background/Security Investigation. Security clearance level may differ from the position announced when certificates are shared.

  • CDC participates in the USCIS Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (). If selected, CDC will determine your employment eligibility using your social security number.

  • May be required to travel at least 10% of the time

  • This position may be subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  • This position may be subject to the OGE Financial Disclosure requirements of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 (P.L. 95-521). CDC inspires public confidence in its trust responsibilities and mission by maintaining high ethical principles. If selected, you may be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE Form 450) to determine if a conflict or an appearance of a conflict exists between your financial interest and your prospective position with the agency. This position may require a Drug Test and be subject to Random Drug Testing. Minimum Qualifications:



To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, which must include the following experience: using Java, Python, DataBricks, SQL, XML, git, Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, and microservices in the analysis and maintenance of relational databases.



To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience: using Java, Python, DataBricks, SQL, XML, git, Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, and microservices in the analysis and maintenance of relational databases.analyzing data from various sources and developing reports and in addition applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication and Problem Solving.



Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.



Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
