Diesel Equipment Technician

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a variety of vehicles, ensuring they are safe and reliable for our customers.
- Utilize Penske's tools and technologies for logging, researching, and completing repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
- Conduct tasks such as replacing or rotating tires, lubricating vehicle components, and performing some electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
- Collaborate with supervisors to learn new skills through Penske's technician training and hands-on coaching.
- Complete assigned projects and tasks as directed by supervisors.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Problem-solving skills and comfort using tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to adhere to specific instructions, guidelines, and safety regulations established by Penske management.
- Willingness to work in a safety-sensitive environment and adhere to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies.
