As a Diesel Equipment Technician at Penske, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring the safety of our customers' vehicles. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a variety of vehicles, ensuring they are safe and reliable for our customers.
  • Utilize Penske's tools and technologies for logging, researching, and completing repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
  • Conduct tasks such as replacing or rotating tires, lubricating vehicle components, and performing some electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to learn new skills through Penske's technician training and hands-on coaching.
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks as directed by supervisors.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Problem-solving skills and comfort using tools.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to adhere to specific instructions, guidelines, and safety regulations established by Penske management.
  • Willingness to work in a safety-sensitive environment and adhere to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies.
