A large aviation company in the Orange County area is hiring for CNC Machinists to support their site in Fullerton, CA. A great opportunity for those interested in the aviation industry. Many chances for growth and advancement within the aviation industry.

 

Pay: $28-$30/hour (depending on experience)

 

Shift: 2nd shift (3pm-1:30am)

 

Description:

  • Sets up and operates conventional lathe, knee and column mill, drill press, surface grinder, and honing machines.
  • Sets up and operates CNC Vertical Mills (3, 4 and 5 axis) and CNC Lathes (4 axis with live tooling and sub-spindle).
  • Performs various operations in cutting and shaping metal to precise dimensions within the tolerance prescribed.
  • Selects the correct speed on any machine, feeds various materials according to operations designated on the route sheet to produce a high percentage of efficiency and quality workmanship.
  • Holds close tolerances with the standards of each operation outlined on the route sheet.
  • Performs first articles. 

Additional Job Duties:

  • Requires preparation and set up of any machines such as Engine Lathes, Turret lathes, Chucker Lathes, N/C Lathes, Vertical Mills, Horizontal Mills, Profile Mills, and N/C Mills.

 Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the operation of all types of Lathes, Mills, Drill Presses and Numeric Controlled Machines.
  • The ideal candidate must possess the following skills:
  • Thorough understanding of setting tool offsets and live tooling (milling cutters)
  • Knowledge of setting up CNC lathe/mill operations for use with ferrous, bar, and extrusion in various alloys
  • Strong knowledge of calipers, micrometers, height gage, and various other measuring instruments
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering data
  • Ability to edit programs (G&M codes)
