Position Summary

The HCB IT Delivery organization, within CVSH’s DDAT organization, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to help realize the product features for a Conversational AI platform that is helping our members to get answers to their health insurance questions through the channel of their choiceIn this role you will be responsible for helping to align features and user stories to the solution design.  In this role you will have a holistic understanding of the application and serve as a expert on the end to end implementation of the application 

You will make an impact by: 

  • Participate in Feature refinement sessions with key stakeholders to ensure the specified needs are clearly articulated, identify gaps, and propose adjustments as needed. 

  • Recommend technical solutions based on business requirements and prioritization 

  • Create/propose solutions for new features with considerations around scale and costs 

  • Identify data needs for use cases, partnering with Integration architects to map enterprise services to the user interface 

  • Implement/code the solutions

  • Address issues/risks/dependencies in solution recommendations

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday 

  • Understanding of architecture patterns to enable scalable solutions for data management, BI, and analytics 

  • Deep understanding of data lifecycle management (operational databases, warehouses, integration and governance, pipelining, analytics enablement, and reporting) 

  • Experienced full stack developer that has worked on complex enterprise scale applications

Dev Skills - Orchestration Developer 

  • Proficient knowledge (minimum 5+ years) and experience with Java focusing on Spring 

  • Experience creating RESTful web services in Java 

  • Experience with NodeJS 

  • Experience integrating RESTful services 

  • Experience creating Unit tests 

  • Experience with OpenShift 

  • Experience trouble-shooting, debugging issues 

  • Familiarity with Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, Teamsite, Splunk 

 

Communication: 

  • Experience working in an Agile Team 

  • Cross-functional team networking  

  • Knowledge Transfer. Learning from others efficiently.  Teaching and sharing with members. 

  • Transcribing UX Design into backend integration 

  • Communicating with frontend developers about connecting services 

  • Presenting technical details to leadership stakeholders 

  • Simplifying and demonstrating progress in effective and easy to understand ways 
     

Enterprise DevOps & Deployment methods: 

  • Jenkins, Github and Octopus deployment (CI/CD process) 

 

Engines: 

  • IBM, Google, Amazon, Microsoft 



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Business or Information Architect a plus 

  • Understanding of data and analytics tools including Tableau, Alation, DataRobot, Trifacta 

  • Critical thinker, with the ability to make decisions on technology aligned to business needs for analytics and data engineering functions 

  • Highly motivated, independent worker with a pulse on industry trends and best practices. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering or STEM 

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$124,372.50 - $247,200.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
