Job Description: Dispensary Technician

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispensary Technician to join our team at Walmart. As a Dispensary Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists with dispensing medications, ensuring accuracy, and providing excellent customer service to our pharmacy customers. Responsibilities:

1. Medication Dispensing: Assist pharmacists in accurately dispensing prescription medications to customers, following established procedures and guidelines. Prepare prescription orders, label medications, and ensure that the correct medication, dosage, and quantity are provided to customers.

2. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of medication inventory levels, including monitoring stock levels, restocking shelves, and rotating stock to ensure product freshness. Assist with inventory audits, ordering medications, and managing expired or outdated medications.

3. Customer Service: Provide friendly and courteous customer service to pharmacy customers, answering questions, addressing concerns, and assisting with medication inquiries. Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold Walmart's commitment to customer satisfaction.

4. Prescription Processing: Assist with prescription intake and data entry, ensuring accuracy and completeness of prescription orders. Verify insurance information, communicate with prescribers as needed, and adhere to privacy and confidentiality regulations.

5. Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on dispensed medications to ensure accuracy and compliance with pharmacy standards. Follow proper procedures for medication storage, handling, and disposal to maintain product integrity and patient safety.

6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to dispensing activities, including prescription files, medication logs, and patient profiles. Ensure that all documentation is complete, up-to-date, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

7. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow and delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care. Communicate effectively and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements:

1. High School Diploma: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.

2. Pharmacy Technician Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is preferred but not required. On-the-job training may be provided for candidates without certification.

3. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing and documentation. Ability to follow instructions carefully and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.

4. Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, including communication, empathy, and professionalism. Ability to interact positively with customers and provide assistance with empathy and patience.

5. Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and support the overall goals of the pharmacy department.
