Looking for an opportunity to grow as a leader in early childhood education on an experienced leadership team? We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, team player to join our management team as an Assistant Director at The Goddard School in North RIdgeville.


The right candidate will be a natural fit in our school family culture and will build positive relationships with the students, parents, and staff at the school. Experience in guiding children’s behavior, having collaborative discussions with parents, and the ability to coach our teaching staff is strongly preferred.


As with any position in early childhood education, attention to detail and placing the safety of children at the highest priority is a requirement. Other job requirements may vary based on the skills and talents of the Assistant Director and the best fit with the remainder of the leadership team which consists of an on-site owner and long tenured Director.



Job requirements

  • Flexibility to work within the hours of 7a-6p as needed, balancing shifts between the Assistant Director and Director to cover opening and closing with a minimum 8 hour shift
  • Ability to understand and participate in implementation and maintenance of a new inquiry-based curriculum, including effectively working with both the educational standards and the associated technology infrastructure
  • Ability to understand, implement, and maintain licensing requirements, Step Up to Quality measures, and Goddard Health, Safety, and Education standards
  • Effective, positive interactions with children, parents, staff members, and touring families
  • Prepared to spend time in classrooms interacting with students and staff



Qualifications

  • Minimum Associates Degree in Education (Early Childhood Education strongly preferred), Child Development or equivalent required
  • Must pass FBI/BCI background checks as required by state licensing
  • Drug screening required
  • Experience in positive discipline practices and awareness of social/emotional developmental milestones required
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle stressful or emotional situations while maintaining composure
