Job Description: Pharmacy Operations Associate

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Operations Associate to join our team at Walmart. As a Pharmacy Operations Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the pharmacy department by assisting with various tasks related to prescription processing, customer service, inventory management, and compliance. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth flow of operations and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services to our customers.

Responsibilities:

1. Prescription Processing: Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with prescription intake, data entry, and order processing. Ensure accurate and timely entry of prescription information into the pharmacy system, including patient details, medication dosage, and insurance information.

2. Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, addressing their inquiries and concerns with professionalism and courtesy. Assist customers with prescription pickup, drop-off, and medication-related questions, providing accurate information and guidance as needed.

3. Inventory Management: Support inventory management efforts by monitoring stock levels, conducting shelf audits, and replenishing medication supplies as necessary. Assist with receiving and stocking incoming inventory shipments, ensuring proper storage and organization of pharmaceutical products.

4. Pharmacy Operations Support: Perform various operational tasks to maintain the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the pharmacy department. This may include maintaining pharmacy equipment, preparing prescription labels, and restocking supplies at workstations.

5. Compliance: Adhere to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality guidelines, and medication safety protocols. Maintain a secure and confidential environment for handling sensitive patient information.

6. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with pharmacy team members to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication. Support colleagues during busy periods, offer assistance as needed, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in pharmacy technology or healthcare administration preferred.
• Prior experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is advantageous but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks such as data entry, medication labeling, and inventory management.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy software systems is desirable.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
