Job Description: Pharmacy Aide

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Pharmacy Aide to join our team. As a Pharmacy Aide, you will provide essential support to our pharmacy staff and help ensure the smooth operation of our pharmacy department. Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service: Greet customers and assist them with their inquiries, including prescription refills, over-the-counter medication purchases, and general pharmacy-related questions. Provide friendly and courteous service to ensure a positive customer experience.

2. Medication Handling: Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in preparing and dispensing prescription medications. Retrieve prescription orders, label medications, and package them for distribution to customers. Ensure accuracy and adherence to pharmacy protocols and procedures.

3. Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and stock incoming inventory, including prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and pharmaceutical supplies. Rotate stock, monitor inventory levels, and perform periodic inventory audits to ensure accuracy.

4. Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks to support pharmacy operations, such as answering phones, processing paperwork, and maintaining pharmacy records. Assist with filing prescriptions, organizing files, and entering data into pharmacy computer systems.

5. Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pharmacy area, including workstations, shelves, and storage areas. Follow safety protocols and guidelines for handling hazardous materials and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.

6. Equipment Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of pharmacy equipment, such as pill counters, prescription printers, and automated dispensing systems. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel for repair or replacement.

7. Compliance: Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies governing pharmacy operations, including patient confidentiality, medication storage and handling, and controlled substance regulations.

Requirements:

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

2. Experience: Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.

3. Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers and coworkers. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks. Ability to follow instructions and maintain a high level of precision in medication handling and inventory management.

5. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other pharmacy aides to achieve common goals and objectives.
