Job Summary:

We are looking for an adept Sr. Power Management Engineer to lead the development of power management capabilities for Supernal's innovative eVTOL aircraft. You will be responsible for designing and monitoring critical power properties essential to aircraft operation, ensuring compliance with certification standards, and providing technical expertise to the engineering staff.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting system-level trades is an essential aspect of aircraft design and involves evaluating various options against factors such as power, propulsion, and thermal considerations. By doing so, the lead can determine the optimal design configuration that meets the desired requirements.
  • Factor in any environmental concerns, such as the location where the electrical system will be installed, and consider any potential hazards that may exist.
  • Use complex approaches to estimate the energy consumption of proposed designs, facilitating prototype development and comparison of various solutions.
  • Estimate the energy consumption of different components and systems using data obtained from manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Develop tools and frameworks for measuring and assessing the impact of power management strategies on system performance.
  • Direct the Testing of Aircraft Wiring Components and Harnesses.
  • Team up with experts from varied fields to perform trade-off assessments, and offer direction in developing design strategies.
  • Use clear and concise language when generating power reports to ensure that stakeholders understand the key takeaways and can act on the information provided.
  • Evaluate the power properties of the equipment using different testing methods, and document the outcomes to improve the power efficacy.
  • Ensure proper tracking and maintenance of power distribution data.
  • Partner with the PMO team to execute developmental plans.
  • The position could demand traveling, up to 10% of the time, within the country and abroad.
  • Accomplish any other tasks that may be assigned to you.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, physics, or any other linked field is a requirement for this job.
  • The available position for a power management engineer in the aerospace industry demands a minimum of five years of professional experience.
  • Thanks to my background in aircraft electrical systems (ATA24) and high-voltage DC systems, I have been able to contribute to a wide range of aviation-related projects.
  • A thorough understanding of either FAA or EASA certification processes is crucial for aviation experts.
  • An adeptness in using CATIA V5/V6 and PLM software, particularly 3D Experience, with accuracy and proficiency.

  • Those who are highly organized and meticulous are typically successful in many fields.
  • Adept at utilizing Jira (Agile application) with efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • It is preferred that the candidate has a Master's degree in electrical, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field.

Stipend: The range of pay for this position is $166,400 to $232,960 USD, which varies based on skills, experience, and location.
