FAA Radar Engineer (ASR-8)

Description

SAIC is seeking a Radar Engineer for a part-time (up to 24 hours/week) opportunity supporting the FAA in establishing a new ASR-8 facility. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with installing the ASR-8 radar system. You will serve as the focal point for equipment planning out of Oklahoma City, OK, to include coordination, follow up, testing, and remote support for the installation of this equipment. Minimal travel may be required.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

• Knowledge and experience with installing the ASR-8 radar system.


• Detailed-oriented mindset and proficiency in researching and analyzing information.


• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.


• Ability to independently establish and manage priorities for fulfilling work assigned.

Qualifications

• A BS in an engineering discipline. A master's degree in any field counts for three years' experience, and a PhD counts for three years' experience. An additional five years' experience may be substituted for the degree stated.


• A minimum of 20 years' related experience, including experience working with the ASR-8 radar system and starting new ASR-8 facilities.


• Ability to coordinate and manage activities related to system refurbishment, testing and logistics.


• Ability to satisfy FAA resume and security requirements.


• US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
