Quality Engineer

Job Description:

At Costco, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products and processes across our diverse range of offerings. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, implement quality assurance measures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement quality control systems to monitor and evaluate product and process performance.
• Conduct thorough analysis of product specifications, requirements, and standards to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for enhancement.
• Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to establish quality requirements, specifications, and performance metrics.
• Design and execute testing protocols and procedures to validate product functionality, reliability, and safety.
• Monitor and analyze quality metrics and KPIs to track performance trends, identify areas of concern, and drive improvement efforts.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams on quality-related matters, including design reviews, process validations, and risk assessments.
• Participate in new product development projects to ensure quality considerations are integrated into the design and manufacturing processes.
• Support audits and inspections by regulatory agencies and certification bodies, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Foster a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement through training, education, and knowledge sharing initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum [X] years of experience in quality engineering or related roles, preferably in a retail or consumer goods environment.
• Strong understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, SPC).
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software and quality assurance tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, statistical process control software).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated project management capabilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification in quality engineering or related disciplines (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.
