SMX is seeking a Database Administrator to support a new contract. Database Administrator will perform many related database functions including designing, implementing, and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery and configuration management. Manage database management systems (DBMS) and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Database Administrators applies technical expertise in the use and configuration of DBMS and is qualified to perform such tasks as:
- Develop functional and technical database designs.
- Define data and database requirements based on overall information systems requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend available DBMS products to support validated user requirements.
- Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.
Required skills and qualifications.
- 5+ years of technical experience supporting complex hosting infrastructure programs (Cloud, on-prem, cybersecurity, network).
- Database Migration Service
- Configuring the parameter group
- Managing IP traffic using a security group
- Evaluate and recommend available DBMS products to support validated user requirements.
- Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields
