About The Team

We re looking for a senior corporate compliance leader experienced in

the technology sector to lead Corporate Compliance for Stripe.

What you ll do

In this role, you will develop and manage our corporate compliance

programs in line with legal requirements, including those related to

employee and political activity, and ensure that Stripe continues to

promote a culture of compliance. You will represent corporate compliance

matters in leadership forums and corporate committees including

delivering performance reports, metrics, trend analyses, and

recommendations as well as with external partners and stakeholders. In

carrying out this role, you will coordinate cross-functionally and work

collaboratively with many internal stakeholder teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Stripe s developing corporate compliance function and manage our corporate compliance risk
  • Help to design and embed corporate compliance programs fit for Stripe's business and operating model and legal requirements. This includes strengthening our compliance control environment, developing and implementing required policies and procedures, and objectively assessing adequacy and effectiveness of the programs
  • Lead Stripe s political compliance program, which includes working with outside counsel on corporate and employee political donations, compliance with lobbying and political gift rules, and launching related initiatives
  • Build state-of-the-art company wide corporate compliance programs including for areas such as insider trading, speak up/whistleblower, and others
  • Manage reporting of corporate compliance risk to leadership, and effectively communicate corporate compliance related topics to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Setting Corporate Compliance-related Communication and Training strategy to ensure employees understand the program and regulatory obligations
  • Partnering with People and Legal teams to enhance confidential reporting structures and investigation practices.
  • Skillfully represent corporate compliance related topics externally before regulators and partners

Minimum Requirements
  • A deep understanding of the corporate compliance issues faced by a technology company like Stripe
  • 10+ years of experience in private and public corporate compliance functions
  • Excellent communication skills including an ability to convey a compelling vision for corporate compliance, and get stakeholder buy-in in a manner that results in enduring change
  • A proven ability to build strong working relationships with industry counterparts, regulators, partners, and at board level
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to create a culture of rigor and compliance by design in a high growth organization
  • Well developed analytical and decision making skills with a keen sense of how to develop and articulate clear logic for decisions, policies, and controls
  • Ease and experience in working in technology driven environments, particularly with a regulatory lens
