Position Title: Attorney

- Bachelor’s Degree and a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- 3 years of experience in practicing law. Legal internships and clerkships may be considered).
- This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.
- Knowledge of Montana and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Evidence, and Rules of Appellate procedure.
- Knowledge of concepts, theories and principles related to transportation law including eminent domain, contract claims, employment law, environmental law, and administrative law.
- Skills in legal research, writing, citation, and documentation.
- Skills in negotiating and mediating conflicts.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- A resume detailing your qualifications and work history.
- A cover letter of no more than two pages addressing your qualifications for the position.
