Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Shift Leaders at Zaxby's are to:
- Complete all requisite training, like Zaxby's Shift Leader Development Plan, Food Safety Certification, and any other additional training as per Zax LLC requirements.
- Foster a high-performing culture and train and guide team members to meet all company benchmarks.
- Mentor, tutor, and develop team members and discuss performance issues with your General Manager.
- Prioritize both guest and team member experience and address all complaints and concerns in a gracious and respectful manner.
- Create and foster a positive culture and uplift team spirit through recognition and leading by example.
Further Tasks:
- Communicate shift goals and motivate team members to meet goals and perform optimally.
- Delegate tasks to the team during a shift and oversee their performance.
- Ensure adherence to operational standards and compliance with all Zaxby's Franchising LLC and Zax LLC guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Guarantee uninterrupted upholding of service, product quality, and cleanliness standards.
- Enhance guest experiences by ensuring that team members exceed guest expectations.
Additionally:
- Accept and reconcile truck deliveries, assure proper product stocking, and conduct daily inventory counts.
- Oversee food production and quality, by scrutinizing prep, cooking, and holding processes, and making the necessary amendments when required.
Further Responsibilities:
- Monitor food safety and quality throughout the shift and ascertain guests receive accurate orders that meet company standards and guest satisfaction.
- Organize shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are fulfilled.
- Collaborate with the management team to set goals and provide feedback on goal progress.
- Secure strict adherence to processes, policies, and procedures during daily operations.
- Abide by the company's cash management policies, adhere to all local, state, and federal laws.
- Utilize management tools and maintain neat, accurate, and contemporaneous records.
Additionally:
- Maintain a flexible mindset, allowing for performance that surpasses the usual job description.
- Ensure a safe work environment and adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Report all human resources and risk management concerns promptly to your General Manager and District Manager.
- Escalate other concerns to your superior, when appropriate.
- Carry out all other duties crucial to the smooth functioning of the restaurant.
Job Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the position:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must possess reliable transportation.
- Be available to work a minimum of 5 days and between 32 to 40 hours a week.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must clear a background check.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to cooperate and interact well with others.
- Preferably have leadership experience.
Capability Prerequisites:
To carry out the role effectively, you need to:
- Continually sit, stand, and walk.
- Occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, or climb (using ladders included).
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds (including overhead lifting).
- Continual use of hands and wrists for grasping and intricate manipulation.
- Be proficient in communication - spoken, reading, and writing.
- Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception to respond appropriately to the environment.
- Can work in an environment that has temperature variations and exposure to food allergens.
- Safely operate and work with potentially hazardous restaurant equipment.
